The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh Look Elegant at Commonwealth Day Service

The Duchess of Edinburgh, Sophie, looked absolutely stunning as she stepped out for the Commonwealth Day Service at Westminster Abbey. She wore an extremely chic flared coat dress by Suzannah London, which was a grey/beige color and featured a skirt towards the hem that allowed the coat to flare out beautifully. The coat had button-down details on the front, a double lapel, and structured, padded shoulders – all of which provided Sophie with a stylish silhouette. She paired the coat dress with a brightly patterned dress underneath, but it was the coat that was the highlight of her outfit. To complete her look, Sophie wore an off-white Damona cowboy hat by Jane Taylor, along with a grey clutch and towering court heels.

Sophie’s husband, Prince Edward, looked simple yet suave in a charcoal grey pinstriped suit with smart black shoes. He wore a light blue shirt with a patterned tie, exuding elegance and sophistication. Edward, who recently turned 60, was all smiles as he accompanied his wife to the Abbey in central London. The royal couple joined other members of the royal family, including Her Majesty the Queen, the Prince of Wales, and Princess Anne, for the annual service marking the 75th Commonwealth Day.

Notably absent from the service were King Charles and the Princess of Wales. King Charles continues to recover from ongoing treatment for cancer, while the Princess of Wales had a private appointment. However, Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, was pictured leaving Windsor with her husband. Despite their absence, the service proceeded with music, poetry, and readings from around the globe, including performances by the Ghetto Kids and Callum Scott. Other royals in attendance included the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester and the Duke of Kent.

Prince Edward and Sophie have had a busy few days celebrating Prince Edward’s 60th birthday. During a speech at the Community Sport and Recreation Awards in Leeds, the Duchess paid tribute to her “darling” and “best friend.” In an interview with Alan Titchmarsh, Edward expressed his gratitude for his wife, calling her an “absolutely brilliant rock.” He also mentioned how lucky they are to have two wonderful children who are forging their own paths.

The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh looked elegant and sophisticated at the Commonwealth Day Service. Their regal attire and presence alongside other members of the royal family added to the grandeur of the event. Prince Edward and Sophie continue to be a shining example of a strong partnership and have captivated the hearts of many with their grace and style.
