Eva Amurri, daughter of actress Susan Sarandon, recently took to Instagram to address critics who were “scandalized” by her wedding dress cleavage. She shared photos from her wedding to chef Ian Hock, describing the day as filled with love and incredible energy.
The Controversial Dress
One photo showed the couple posing in the rain, with Amurri wearing a strapless Kim Kassas dress featuring a corset-style neckline. In response to critics who called her gown “unflattering,” Amurri confidently defended her choice, stating that she found the dress to be both sexy and elegant.
Amurri explained that she wanted a dress with a vintage feel that was feminine without being overly pouffy. She aimed to strike a balance between feeling sexy and elegant, and she believed that the dress she chose achieved that perfectly.
Amurri and Hock tied the knot in New York’s Hudson Valley, hosting a small group of about 40 guests, including Sarandon and her ex Tim Robbins. The celebration had a French garden party-inspired theme, with a focus on their family unit and creating a personal and intimate ceremony.
The couple worked with their officiant to craft a ceremony that reflected their values and relationship, placing emphasis on their love for food. According to Amurri, the key elements of their wedding were the beautiful atmosphere, close friends and family, and a delicious party.
Prior to getting married, Amurri expressed her excitement about choosing a “sexier” gown, believing that it was a true reflection of who she is as a woman today. The couple got engaged in Paris in February 2023 after two years of dating, with their wedding day being a celebration of their love and commitment to each other.
