Recently, Angelina Jolie and her 15-year-old daughter, Vivienne Jolie-Pitt, made a rare joint appearance on the red carpet. The mother-daughter pair celebrated the opening night of their new Broadway show, The Outsiders. Jolie stunned in a silk dress paired with a gold cape, while Jolie-Pitt opted for a stylish blue jumpsuit.
A Family Production
Jolie, who is a producer for The Outsiders, had her daughter, Jolie-Pitt, act as her volunteer assistant for the production. In an interview with People, Jolie praised her daughter’s passion for theater, calling her the “biggest theater head” in the family. The pair were joined by Jolie-Pitt’s twin brother, Knox, as well as their siblings Shiloh, Zahara, Pax, and Maddox at the premiere.
According to Jolie, when it comes to theater, Jolie-Pitt excels “hands down”. She commended her daughter’s attention to detail and strong work ethic, noting that Jolie-Pitt takes her role as assistant very seriously. Jolie shared in a 2019 essay for ELLE that she often encourages her daughters to prioritize developing their minds above all else. “You can always put on a pretty dress, but it doesn’t matter what you wear on the outside if your mind isn’t strong,” Jolie stated.
The new musical, adapted from S.E. Hinton’s novel of the same name, was written by Justin Levine. At the premiere, Jolie-Pitt and Levine were seen posing together, clad in matching outfits as a display of solidarity. The mother-daughter duo’s collaboration on The Outsiders not only showcases their shared love for theater but also highlights the strong bond they share both on and off the stage.
Angelina Jolie and Vivienne Jolie-Pitt’s partnership on Broadway underscores the importance of family, hard work, and a passion for the arts. As they continue to navigate the world of theater together, their joint projects serve as a testament to the enduring bond between a mother and her daughter.
