ELLE has long been known for its commitment to highlighting powerful women and their accomplishments. One of the ways they do this is through their signature career column, Office Hours, which provides a platform for women in leadership positions to share their insights and experiences. Recently, ELLE partnered with The Standard, East Village to host a live Office Hours event, bringing together a panel of inspiring women to discuss their careers and the paths that led them to success.
The panel discussion was moderated by ELLE’s deputy digital editor, Madison Feller, and featured Amber Asher, CEO of Standard International; Ah-Niyah Gold, founder of A Gold Consulting; Marjon Carlos, cultural critic and creative consultant; and Priya Krishna, food reporter and cookbook author. Each woman shared stories of their first jobs and the risks they took to get where they are today. From working at a cider mill to performing on Broadway, the panelists’ diverse backgrounds offered valuable insights into the non-linear paths to leadership.

Her approach to writing a children’s cookbook underscored the importance of embracing feedback and staying true to one’s creative vision.
